Circle of Friends
The Circle of Friends was founded in 2001 with a goal to raise awareness and funds for United Cerebral Palsy. Over the years there has been a steady increase in the number of Friends and the funds they have raised.
UCP's Circle of Friends believes people with disabilities deserve a place to learn, work and play that inspires them to be all they can be - no matter how young or how old they are. Their dedicated families and primary caregivers deserve a helping hand, too.
Through an annual invitation, members of the Friends reach out to family, friends and colleagues asking for their support. Hoping to raise the most money possible, an effort has been made to reduce printing and mailing costs-the invitations are now mailed electronically!
Today the "Circle" is focused on expanding membership and funding specific needs of UCP-helping to cross essentials off the wish list. Currently, the goal of the Circle of Friends is to buy a specially-equipped van to help provide transportation to UCP respite care facilities. Often this is the only way many of our adults and children can travel to these safe havens.
The Circle of Friends recently hosted the first Friends Author Event, which featured Suzanne Willis Zoglio, author of "Create a Life that Tickles.
