Stephen is five years old and is a recent graduate from United Cerebral Palsy's Early Intervention Program. Before coming to UCP, Stephen was totally dependent on his Mother to do everything for him. She would feed him, carry him, even put a toy in his hand so he could play with it. She enrolled Stephen in the Best Friends Child Care program and she knew that it was the right place for him. This program integrates children with and without disabilities. It also combines therapy sessions, classroom activities and has made a huge difference in Stephen's life. Currently, Stephen and his parents are looking at schools for September placement. Although they are excited about Stephen going to a new school, Stephen and his Mother have said that they will miss UCP. And we will miss them, too! |
