All Star Labor Classic logo

Sunday, April 13, 2008

In its 21st year, the All Star Labor Classic has broken its fundraising goal by netting over $140,000 for United Cerebral Palsy. Thousands of fans filled the Fieldhouse at St. Joseph's University to watch the area's best high school seniors (boys and girls) match talents in two "city vs. suburbs" basketball games. The day also included an exhibition game between an Organized Labor and Media All Star teams, cheerleaders, an appearance by Radio Sponsor Power 99's Eddie F and his crew, contests, prize give-aways and more. 5K logo

OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!
Close to 1,400 participants lined up for this year's UCP 5K Corporate Run/Walk.
Under sunny skies teams representing over 40 Philadelphia area companies, as well as individual runners and walkers gathered on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the five-kilometer (3.1 mile) race. In addition to a beautiful route along the river, there was lots of fun and food on the plaza.

Prizes were awarded in individual and team categories. Here are the names of the top individual and team finishers. View complete race results provided by BestRace.com.

Only steps from the finish line at Jack's Firehouse restaurant, racers cooled off at the first official event After Party hosted by UCP’s Young Leadership Board (YLB) and sponsored by The Graham Company. With such success, we look forward to turning it into an ongoing UCP 5K tradition.

Many thanks to all our participants, team captains, volunteers, and sponsors who helped us raise important dollars for UCP programs. A special thank you to the crew from POWERade for going above and beyond with their support. It was greatly appreciated!

See some great shots from the night!
