ELIGIBILITY & MEMBERSHIP
All UCP Recreation activities are available to teens and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, and a variety of visual, hearing, and speech impairments. Members of the Recreation Program have a wide range of disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, autism, head trauma, Down Syndrome, spinal cord injuries, mental health difficulties, a diagnosis of mental retardation, or any condition that limits a person’s independence.
To get involved with UCP Recreation, a membership application along with a medical form must be submitted. The membership year runs from July 1 through June 30 with an annual fee of $35.00. Upon receiving a membership packet from the Recreation Department, an individual may begin to register for activities. All events and activities are published in a monthly calendar that is distributed to all members. Dates, times, places, and any additional fees are specified. Pre-registration is required for participation in all UCP Community Recreation events.
All members are responsible for their own transportation. Information regarding SEPTA’s CCT service is available from UCP. Also, the extent of personal care provided by UCP is limited.
Information on individual programs is available by clicking on the program links to the left or completing the Request for Information form.
